Given the various accusations obtained during his leadership, José Ángel Tostado was fired by Deputy Mayor Edgar González Zataráin
Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- Despite the fact that in recent days the Director of the Institute of Culture and Art of Mazatlan, José Ángel Tostado Quevedo declared that he was still in charge of the institution and that the rumors of his departure were false, today the Municipal President from Mazatlán, Edgar A. González Zataráin told the media that today was his last day on the Culture front.
“I don’t know where they get that from, but hey, I’m still working, I think that’s what they want,” the now-former director of Culture commented a few days ago.
It should be noted that Tostado Quevedo was recently denounced before the State Superior Audit Office (ASE) by some council members in Mazatlán for modifications to the budget and alleged direct awards.
However, it is a complaint that is in process and he will have to face it outside the position of Director since today is the last day he works for the Municipal Government.
For his part, the Municipal President mentioned that today was José Ángel’s last day of work, once the day’s activities were completed, but that they have not yet decided who will be in charge of the Institute of Culture and that decision will be will take in conjunction with the body of aldermen.
He added that the decision must take into account the budget that is already exhausted for this year and the issue of time on top, so the situation must be analyzed in detail.
