Municipal Government and DIF Mazatlán will carry out “2022 Free Cataract Surgeries Campaign”

150 citizens in a vulnerable situation will benefit


Mazatlan Sinaloa. – With the aim of improving the quality of life of people who suffer from cataracts, the Government headed by Mayor Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres, through the Mazatlán DIF System, will carry out the “Free Cataract Surgeries Campaign 2022”.


At a press conference, the Director of this organization, Brenda Borboa Sarabia, announced that these sessions will be held in coordination with the Ale Mazatlán IAP Foundation, Oftavisión Organ Donation, the Center for the Prevention of Blindness, and the Cinépolis Foundation.


Borboa Sarabia reported that on June 29 and 30, 300 people will be assessed at the Municipal Sports Institute facilities, located next to the Olympic Pool, to select 150 candidates to perform surgery.


“The operations will be carried out from July 27 to 29 of the current year in the facilities occupied by the Municipal Hospital, Margarita Maza de Juárez,” he asserted.


Those who wish to register for an assessment can go to Constitución Street 1029, almost on the corner of Rosales in the Centro neighborhood, or call 6699 813216, Monday through Friday from 09:00 to 15:00.

Interested parties must submit a copy of the Birth Certificate, CURP (in letter size), a copy of the INE, and proof of address no older than 3 months.
