Mazatlan. – This Wednesday morning, the DIF Mazatlán System, headed by its director Brenda Borboa, officially began the free cataract surgery campaign at the Margarita Maza de Juárez Municipal Hospital, where, in addition, at the time of the ceremony they carried out the first surgeries, to continue during the next two days with this campaign.

“In the hospital they closed the operating rooms, we are only in the operating room, so it is a great blessing for us to be here. The surgeries have already begun and the doctors are already inside operating,” said Dr. Verónica Olvera Carrasco, president of the ALE Foundation.

The director of DIF Mazatlan thanked those present, as well as the hospital and institutions that joined this campaign, which aims to help those who need it most, and provide a free service to improve their quality of life.

“I want you to know that we are working to benefit the community, I thank all the organizations, the ALE Foundation, our hospital director, because this campaign that they have been doing for years is invaluable, both in cost and in heart,” said Borboa .

The surgeries provided have an approximate cost of 35 thousand pesos, a service that will be provided completely free of charge for patients, including the necessary post-surgery care.

They explained that unfortunately, not all applicants apply for candidates for different reasons when making diagnoses, however, they plan to continue with this campaign that is carried out once a year.
