The end of the cruise season is approaching or at least its decrease, even so, Mazatlán continues as a leading destination for shipping companies
MAZATLÁN.- The Integral Port Administration of Mazatlán announced the list of cruise ships that will visit the port throughout this month, welcoming another month, which, everything seems to indicate, will be the last arrivals of the season until October.
According to the API, there is a record of 6 arrivals, distributed by weeks, starting on May 1 with the Star Breezer, from the Windstar Cruises line; followed by the Panorama this week, the Carnival Cruise Line, in which almost 4,000 passengers and just over 1,200 crew members are expected.
This same ship will repeat its arrivals the following three Wednesdays of the month, being the most recurrent since the reactivation of cruises after the Covid-19 pandemic; From there, from the Oceania Cruises line, the Regatta will arrive, which will be its first visit to Mazatlan during the season.
This ship is small in size, compared to the rest, called a luxury cruise ship, it is 181 meters long by 26 meters wide, 9 decks open to the public and can carry approximately 684 passengers and 400 crew members and has 342 luxury suites, 70 percent of them with balcony.
It would be arriving this Sunday, May 8, thus leaving an economic spill of more than 70 thousand dollars, in case the almost 700 passengers got off the ship to learn about the attractions of the famous “Pearl of the Pacific”.
According to information from the same API, the months between June and September, the arrivals of cruise ships decrease, but they gain strength again, starting in October, that is why this tourist segment is considered seasonal.
