Surveillance strategy defined for the Great Pacific Marathon; there will be street closures

The Great Pacific Marathon will take place from November 29 to December 1, and to ensure development within a framework of security and fine-tune the operation that will be implemented, the preparatory and coordination meeting was held this Tuesday.

Directors of the Venados de Mazatlán Club received representatives of the three levels of Government, Municipal and State Civil Protection, as well as various emergency bodies at the facilities of the Teodoro Mariscal Stadium to jointly analyze the details of what will be the maximum sporting event on the seashore.

The objective of the meeting was to learn about the state of force that will be added to protect the participants before, during and after the marathon, which will take place from November 29 to December 1.

The sports festival will begin on Friday with the sports expo, to give way to the triathlon, mascot race and the light show on Saturday.

On Sunday, December 1, the main competition will be held at 41 and 21 kilometers, so it will be necessary to close some important roads in the city, a measure that will be taken starting on Saturday, November 30 at night, for the construction of platforms and the clearing of traffic.

According to the information released tonight, among the roads that will have a traffic pause for the development of the event, are Leonismo Internacional Avenue, Reforma, Del Mar to Paseo Claussen, as well as Rafael Buelna, for Saturday and Sunday, extending to Camarón Sábalo and Sábalo Cerritos for the 41 and 21 kilometer races. Regarding the opening of the roads, it is expected to be gradual once the competition concludes.

The Secretariat of Public Security indicated that the purpose of these meetings is to create a single preventive and security strategy in which the three levels of government and emergency bodies participate.
