MAZATLAN. – Two vaccination campaigns have already begun, the influenza vaccine and the Covid-19 vaccine, which will be available from October 17 until March 2024, reported the Secretary of Health, Cuitláhuac González Galindo.
In this first arrival of vaccines, around 72 thousand doses of influenza vaccines are planned, but waiting to be able to cover 400 thousand throughout the state during the campaign. In addition, 134 thousand doses against Covid-19 have been received.
“We will be starting the vaccination campaign for both Influenza and Covid, this will be carried out in the health centers of each municipality and later we will spread it out to cover the entire state.”
González Galindo pointed out that priority will be given to those high-risk patients who are over 60 years old or have diseases with immunosuppression or who have some other respiratory pathology that could put their lives at risk.
“We will be applying vaccines to children between 6 months and 5 years as a priority and high-risk patients, patients over 60 years of age or diseases, transplant recipients, with HIV or some other pathology that would put them at risk,” he commented.
In the case of vaccines against Covid-19, the state official added that they have Abdala and Sputnik vaccines, an approximate of 134 thousand vaccines that will be distributed both in the IMSS, in the ISSSTE, the Ministry of Health and IMSS-Wellbeing.
Sputnik, he explained, will only be applied to those over 18 years of age, Abdala will be for the entire population over 5 years of age; He added that the priority is the same, it will be applied first to people over 60 years of age and/or with illnesses, but people who are looking for some reinforcement for the winter season will also be able to attend.
