La Perla del Pacífico is nominated in four categories, Leading Cruise Port in Mexico and Central America 2023; Leading City Break Destination in Mexico and Central America 2023; Destination Leading City of Mexico and Central America 2023; and Tourist Board of the Leading City of Mexico and Central America 2023

MAZATLAN. – The Oscars for tourism in the world have arrived and Mazatlán is nominated in four categories for the best this 2023, at the World Travel Awards.

The categories to which it is nominated are Leading Cruise Port in Mexico and Central America 2023; Leading City Break Destination in Mexico and Central America 2023; Destination Leading City of Mexico and Central America 2023; and the Tourist Board of the Leading City of Mexico and Central America 2023.

Out of approximately 39 categories, the “Pearl of the Pacific” has remained a favorite destination for these nominations since 1993 to recognize, reward and celebrate excellence in all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries.

For the first category of the leading cruise port in Mexico and Central America 2023, Mazatlán is in the shortlist together with the Costa Maya Cruise Port; Puerto Colon 2000, Panama; Port of Cozumel; and Port of Progreso, Yucatan. In this category, Mazatlán has not achieved such an award.

It is followed by the Leading City Break Destination in Mexico and Central America 2023; in this category, Mazatlán along with Acapulco, Belize, Cancun, Mexico City, Oaxaca, Panama, Playa del Carmen, San José, in Costa Rica, and Tijuana.

The favorite category of Mazatlán, Leading City Destination of Mexico and Central America 2023 is the one that has awarded it three times, the last time being in 2021; this year it is nominated along with Acapulco, Cancun; Granada, Nicaragua, Mexico City, Panama, and San José, Costa Rica.

While in the category Tourist Board of the Leading City of Mexico and Central America 2023, Mazatlán is nominated together with the Acapulco Tourist Board; the Cancun Convention and Visitors Bureau; and the Los Cabos Tourist Board. Here Mazatlán has not released the award since 2021.

The event will be held in Saint Lucia, a Caribbean city, on August 26 of this year. If you want to vote for Mazatlán, you must register on the official website of the WTA

Each year, the World Travel Awards tour the globe with its Grand Tour, a series of regional gala ceremonies to recognize excellence within each continent, culminating with the winners going head-to-head in a grand finale at the end of the year.

Gala ceremonies are considered milestones in the travel calendar, attended by top decision-makers, front men, influencers and industry media.
