MAZATLAN. – The International Carnival of Mazatlán is the best celebration or festivity in Mexico and won in the “Best of Mexico” contest organized by the magazine México Desconocido.
Carnival obtained the highest rating or vote in the “Fiesta with the greatest tradition and color” area, competing with six other destinations and their festivities such as Veracruz, Campeche, Morelos, Yucatán, Puebla and Tlaxcala.
The Secretary of Tourism of Sinaloa, Estrella Palacios Domínguez, commented that the popularity and international turn of the Carnival places it among the most famous in the world and exalts national pride for what it represents.
“We are known nationally and internationally for this great party that is already 125 years old; Without a doubt, this will result in a great promotion for Sinaloa… as a result of the carnivals, people have the opportunity to experience the joy of the Sinaloans, the color, the culture, ”she declared.
Palacios Domínguez pointed out that the Carnival party goes beyond a parade, it has history and a whole tradition of the party that is held with the queens, with the parade of floats, with the concerts and the cultural part.
“Let this great party continue, let’s continue celebrating that we have the best carnival in the country and many, many congratulations to all Sinaloans from the state governor, Rubén Rocha Moya,” she commented.
The Mazatlán Carnival has more than a century of history, since 1898 it is a party that takes place year after year and that, over time, has become a fixed date for the tourist who seeks to soak up the festival of port.
In addition to this category, Sinaloa participates in the category of gastronomy and best destination to visit, in a contest called “The Best of Mexico 2023” and which, year after year, is held within the framework of the Tianguis Turístico, which gives the opportunity to the entire public to vote.
