In Mazatlan, the party never ends and less when it comes to Carnival.

The International Carnival of Mazatlan, has transcended throughout the years as one of the most important carnivals in Mexico thanks to its characteristics. This festival is celebrated since 1898, five days before each Ash Wednesday.

It starts on a Thursday afternoon with the traditional coronation of the King of Happiness, which normally takes place at Olas Altas and the Paseo Claussen del Malecón, to the rhythm of the tambora and accompanied by a cultural spectacle. From that day and during the next five, the party does not stop.

Dances, fireworks, queens, poetry contests, literature awards, shows of great artistic quality with international singers and a great parade that decorates the boardwalk to enjoy as a family.

Masks, crowns of neon lights, colorful wigs, lots of confetti and streamers parade in the endless nights of partying, the Olas Altas area becomes the biggest dance floor in the country with music for all tastes.

With family or friends, visit Mazatlan on carnival days and see what a real party is like. The International Carnival of Mazatlan will be held from February 23 to 28, 2017.
