MAZATLÁN.- Banana pie has become a traditional dessert in southern Sinaloa so much so that, in its place of origin, Copala, in Concordia, a festival was held that attracted dozens of tourists.

This weekend the fifth edition was held and, early on, the Ministry of Tourism reported that there were dozens of visitors, hour after hour, leaving no opportunity to park.

The Undersecretary of Tourism Promotion, Estrella Palacios Domínguez, mentioned that it is Sectur’s commitment to support the tourist activity of the 18 municipalities, to turn tourism into a source of well-being for all.

To this, she said, is added the economic recovery not only for the sale of pies, but also for the breakfasts they offer, the sales of handicrafts and many other things.

And it is that you can enjoy the pie with a coffee, but also without it, because the mixture of flavors makes you play and guess if it is the banana with which you make your smoothie or the platano macho.

In addition, the experience of going to Copala is walking on its cobblestone streets, with views of old houses, the church dedicated to its patron saint, San José, and nature.
