Cruise ships could stay in Mazatlan until 9:00 at night

The vision and commitment of the Government of Mazatlan to invest in tourism and to keep security actions and health protocols active, give tourists confidence to visit the city, they assure.

Mazatlan, Sinaloa. – The tourist cruise ships that arrive at the port with thousands of foreign visitors could extend their stay until 9:00 p.m., thanks to the trust that the shipping lines have in the Municipal Government headed by Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres.

Astrid Macías Fregoso, director of the Tourist Assistance and Protection Center (Capta) mentioned that the vision and commitment of the current municipal administration to invest in tourism and to keep security actions and health protocols active, give confidence to tourists in visiting the city.

She assured that it will be a great achievement for Mazatlán that cruise passengers extend their stay in the port from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. since it will be reflected in a greater economic spill that will benefit different sectors; the next step would be for them to spend the night in the city.

“There are cruises that are already scheduled to stay until 9 p.m., it is a great benefit that the cruise stay is extended. Instead of leaving at 6:00 p.m., as cruise ships that arrive on Wednesday, which is the Carnival Panorama, runs from 6:00 to 9:00 at night, this means more hours and more experiences, more economic benefits here in the city, and therefore more security,” she specified.

Macías Fregoso added that, when a cruise ship arrives, Capta personnel keep an eye on the tours that tourists take on foot or by bicycle in the different tourist lines, in order to promote closer contact with visitors.
