Mazatlán.- The rains that occurred early Sunday morning and that generated a 43.7-millimeter drop of water in the city, in addition to causing flooding of streets and avenues of the port, also produced the “overflow” of the Estero del Yugo.

The body of water located between the sea and Avenida Camarón-Sábalo, almost in front of the Hotel Riú, captured a lot of water from the rains generated by the monsoon phenomenon, and this Sunday afternoon it formed a strong flow towards the Pacific Ocean.

Elements of the Aquatic Rescue Squad are already in the area to guide bathers, so the recommendation to walkers and locals who are in the place is to follow the instructions of the authorities to avoid incidents.

According to Eloy Ruiz Gastélum, coordinator of Municipal Civil Protection, the rains that around 04:00 hours on Sunday registered in the municipality, left a preliminary balance of two vehicles stranded due to flooding on International and Gabriel Leyva avenues.
