Letter to the Governor of Sinaloa: Dentists ask for justice for the murder of a colleague on a Mazatlán beach

The document states that the simplistic statements and opinions that his friend “was confused” are not enough, since this only implies an evasion of his responsibilities and a lack of empathy and solidarity with the family and relatives of the victim.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Through a public letter addressed to the Governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, the Secretary of State Security and the Mayor of Mazatlán, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, the Mexican Dental Association and the National Federation of Colleges of Dental Surgeons AC, demand justice for the murder of Gerardo Tueme Arellanoassassinated on Sunday, June 5, on the beaches of the port of Mazatlán.

In the letter, they lament the tragic act committed against one of their partners, who was part of the College of Dental Surgeons of Laguna AC, and which ended his life, when he was on the beaches of Mazatlán, but more than regret the loss is not enough, nor is it enough to express that everything necessary will be done, and that as a union they ask for actions.

“In this case, to our dental union in particular; regretting the loss is not enough, expressing that everything necessary will be done is not enough, we require precise actions and immediate results, we need to restore tranquility throughout the country, in our public places and healthy recreation, in all the communities, mainly in the cities with great tourist representation…”.

In the letter, he states that this union does not want, nor does it want, nor does it need more anguish or concern, but rather it occupies to recover the freedoms of transit and work, that if it lives in this climate of insecurity and violence, that although they are not the responsibility exclusive to the current authorities, since it has been going on for many years, at least if they ask for a more sensitive and conscious government.

“The simplistic statements and opinions that our friend “was confused” are not enough for us, this only implies an evasion of responsibilities and a clear lack of empathy and solidarity with the family and relatives of the victim, resignations or separations are not enough for us of public officials, only substantive solutions are enough for these types of events to be clarified and those responsible to be punished…”.

In this letter signed by Manuel Sergio Martínez Martínez , representative of this collegiate group of doctors, and which was replied via Twitter this Thursday, he highlights that they hope that measures will be taken to avoid more events of this type.

In addition to the fact that they hope that the authorities of Mazatlán and Sinaloa will soon have clear solutions and, as far as possible, know how to provide peace and tranquility to this tourist destination and justice for the death of one of their members.
