The Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries of Mazatlan announced that the lodging centers that will arrive soon are five-stars.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Given the growth that Mazatlán has had in recent years, investors are analyzing building two five-star hotels.

Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas, Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries of Mazatlán, assured that the port draws the attention of investors, shipping companies, airlines and important chains that want to come and generate more growth for the city.

“Two investors who come for new international hotel brands have already crystallized; After a meeting that I am going to have, if you authorize me, I could talk a little more about the brand, but they are two brands, some investors from California and other national investors who want to invest in five-star hotels with great development for Mazatlan” , said.

Velarde Cárdenas commented that all this is part of the growth of the city, which gives confidence and certainty to investors.

HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS

The municipal official added that in the face of the fifth wave of Covid-19 infections in the entity and the recent violent events in this port, the measures must be reinforced in both situations.

Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas, Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries of Mazatlán.

He pointed out that it is important to carry out a real analysis on the issue of security since he recently attended the Acapulco Tourist Market, where there is an atmosphere of insecurity in which many businesses have closed.

“Mazatlán is living another story, of trust, of security, of investors and unfortunately the violent events, which do happen in the port, are going to be unfortunate, but if they happen in the tourist area, it increases the precautions that have to be taken.”

He assured that all this is something that cannot be prevented and that it comes suddenly.

“But without a doubt, we must increase the protocols, both health and safety, in order to continue with this growth that Mazatlan has,” he concluded.
