Details are fine-tuned in the training of the coastguard and the application of protocols for swimmers.
MAZATLÁN.- A total of 102 lifeguards will be present along the entire coastal strip of Mazatlan to safeguard visiting and local bathers who enjoy the beach in the city during the Easter and Holy Week holiday period. Moto, reported the coordinator of Municipal Civil Protection, Eloy Ruiz Gastélum.
He commented that a review has already been made of all the lifeguards that will be installed in hotels and condominiums in the city, with the idea of training them and not letting bathers break the established protocols and regulations, putting their lives at risk.
“General recommendations have already been issued as such, which is to improve its regulations for the use of swimming pools, reposition the regulations in a place where the guest has greater identification of what are the guidelines to follow to use the swimming pools.”
He pointed out that another recommendation is to re-equip the first-aid kits that are in the pool areas for immediate attention in any emergency, but more than that all of them have their lifeguards.
He added that the 102 lifeguards are taking a rescue course that includes physical conditioning and mental preparation to face the many situations that occur in the beach area.
He said that it will be next Saturday when they conclude their training and begin distribution by beach area, from Isla de la Piedra to Cerritos.
