Escuinapa, Sinaloa.- With projects aimed at generating sustainable tourism on the beaches of Teacapán and Las Cabras, this Monday the Secretary of Tourism of Sinaloa, Rosario Torres Noriega and the Municipal President of Escuinapa, Blanca García Sánchez analyzed the issue where the opening would be of a gastronomic corridor .
The state official indicated that they also agreed to analyze the feasibility of opening the Pyramid of El Calón to excursion tourism, among other actions to attract visitors, generate employment and stimulate the tourist flow for the benefit of the inhabitants of the area.
“Teacapán because it has great tourism potential, obviously, we are talking about a gastronomic corridor, we were also seeing the pyramid of El Calón, to see some rapprochement with Semarnat, with the authorities that are responsible for seeing this issue, because obviously we need tourism sustainable, caring for the environment and we also talk about the issue of training, there is a great need for training for service providers, restaurant owners, food handlers, and tourist services”.
According to the INAH, El Calón is unique in the world, as it is an authentic pyramid 20.70 meters high, built with mollusk shells -mule leg- and to a lesser extent, oyster shells, many of which, are still closed.
According to INAH calculations for the construction of El Calón, almost 300 million shell molluscs were used, its shape was planned this way from the beginning and its sacred character is evident, that is, it functioned as a temple.
At the end of the meeting, the state official responded to the reporters that the Sectur will support, to the best of its ability, events such as the Fiesta de las Cabras and other activities that take place in the 18 Municipalities of Sinaloa given the proximity, especially of Holy Week. .
