MAZATLAN. – The International Carnival of Mazatlan 2022 is a fact, as confirmed by Governor Rubén Rocha Moya through Twitter.
The party will take place from February 24 to March 1.
This is announced after the change in the epidemiological traffic light at the national level, placing Sinaloa in yellow, along with 15 other states, the rest turned green.
The governor mentioned that this 124th edition of the maximum Mazatlan party will be carried out with strict health protocols and under the surveillance of their compliance to safeguard the health of the population.
“It will be carried out with strict health protocols and the reduction of capacity to 70 percent. The health authorities will be in close coordination to ensure that they are applied, ”he declared.
Officialía Mayor reported just yesterday that the Municipal Institute of Culture maintains an advance in the paperwork of the permits for the coronations of the queens and king of the carnival.
In addition, it was announced that the Carnival Fair will start from February 19 to March 6, on Quirino Ordaz Coppel Avenue, in front of Central Park.
Rocha Moya launched a call via Twitter to comply with all these protocols, to avoid crowds, and to follow the instructions of the authorities.
“We invite you to follow them to take care of the health of those who attend this international event,” he said.
Sinaloa returns to the yellow traffic light
The Ministry of Health at the federal level announced that Sinaloa returns to the color of the yellow Epidemiological Traffic Light, which represents a slight decrease in public space.
This news is released a few hours after the official announcement of the state authorities about whether or not there is an International Carnival of Mazatlan, which would be taking place from February 24 to March 1.
For the authorities, the states in yellow must have an operation of economic and social activities with a capacity of 75 percent, in addition, the educational model will work under the new normal according to what is established by the Ministry of Education.
In addition, the use of the face mask is mandatory in all closed public spaces and the recommendation of open spaces is to keep a healthy distance and mandatory in public transport.
The other states that have the same color are states like Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, among others in the Bajío area and the south.
According to the Ministry of Health in the state, 821 new cases were registered, of which 380 correspond to Culiacán, 230 to Ahome, 143 to Mazatlán and the rest are dispersed among the other municipalities.
There are 1,854 active cases, 956 correspond to Culiacán, 248 to Mazatlán, 204 to Ahome, 159 to Guasave and the rest to the other municipalities.
