Construction of the Mexinol plant in Topolobampo, Sinaloa begins in April

On April 23, the first stone will be laid as a symbolic act to mark the start of construction on the Mexinol plant, which will produce methanol in the port of Topolobampo.

According to statements made by the Governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, during the weekly press conference, this project represents an investment of more than $3.3 billion and will generate approximately 4,500 direct and indirect jobs.

He stated that this project was discussed during a meeting with the U.S. Consul General in Hermosillo, Drew Hoster, and said that they plan to invite the Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, to attend the event and learn about other foreign investments planned for Sinaloa.

Another upcoming project is the expansion of the Wendy’s chain, which plans to open a restaurant in Mazatlán.

Regarding the issue of marketing agricultural and aquaculture products, the governor stated that in a national meeting with Ebrard Casaubón, this topic was raised within the framework of the interest of the various regions of the country to know what should be considered before the USMCA negotiating committee and to facilitate the export of state production.
