Becerra Rodríguez estimated that on average a couple spends close to a thousand pesos, however, this figure could vary by restaurant
Mazatlan, Sinaloa. – Despite having a capacity limit of 60 percent, the restaurants in Mazatlan had a full house, which ‘at the eye of a good cubero’, was higher than what was captured last year 2021.
Rodrigo Becerra Rodríguez, head of the National Chamber of the Restaurant Industry and Seasoned Foods of Mazatlan, mentioned to Reacción Informativa that February 14, along with May 10, are the festivities that most crowd food businesses, however, this is not a surprise because days in advance the same businesses prepare to receive the guests.
“The truth, along with May 10, is one of our best dates and the fact that we have been full does not take us by surprise because we expect it and in fact we prepare and fix our places (shops)”, he referred.
“All the restaurants were 100 percent full,” he added.
Although it is too soon to be able to have a total of the sales on ‘lover’s day’, Becerra Rodríguez estimated that on average a couple spends close to a thousand pesos, however, this figure could vary by restaurant. In addition, he considered that an important factor for such an economic spill is due to the fact that the citizens themselves have learned to live with Covid-19.
“Last year and the day before last we still had certain precautions and we still did not know how we were standing and right now after two years of the pandemic, we already know how to handle the situation, how to apply prevention measures and people are already learning to live with this new style of living things”, he concluded.
