Mazatlan, Sinaloa. – The hotel sector is more concerned about the local tourist situation since, in some of the countries that most frequent Mazatlan, they have been suggested to travel only if it is strictly necessary, which could reduce the current tourist activity and consequently, if there is no tourism, there will be tourists for the Mazatlan Carnival.

This was reported by Julio Birrueta, marketing director of the Association of Hotels and Tourist Companies, who highlighted the urgency of addressing the tourism issue since it is a more immediate matter than the Mazatlan International Carnival since there is still a long time to go.

“The truth is that it is preferable to concentrate on continuing to attract tourism, even if it is right now with a little more application of protocols. Apart from that, we don’t know what would happen, we simply have to continue concentrating on the tourist issue,” he declared.

He stated that currently, the “strong” of the season are foreigners, however, in countries like Canada they have received recommendations “not to travel if it is not a very necessary trip”, so they should focus more on improving filters and protocols sanitary.

“We are over the season for foreigners, we are trying to get countries that have restrictions like Canada, which have to be vaccinated when leaving and returning to their country; that there are all the conditions for them to continue coming, that is, to work on what is already a fact, a fact is that they have ‘suggested’ Canadians not to travel if it is not a very necessary trip, then there we have a fact, there if we have to work, there so that they keep coming, it has already been proven that locking yourself up is not the best idea, “he recommended.

Until now, Mazatlán has had an economic boom derived from tourist activity, which could be affected if it does not maintain a correct sanitary filter.
