Mazatlan businesses that do not comply with protocols against Covid-19 will be sanctioned

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Mayor’s Office of the City Council announced the reinforcement of prevention measures in all businesses in the city, where anyone who does not comply with the Covid-19 protocols will be sanctioned, starting this Wednesday.

The senior officer, Nayla Velarde Narváez, reported that the possible reduction of capacity in all establishments, mainly restaurants, bars, and nightclubs, is being analyzed, which is currently at 75%, but that it will be exposed to the mayor of Mazatlán, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, for evaluation.

For the moment, Velarde Narváez announced that as of this Wednesday they begin with the stage of sanctions to restaurants, clubs, and bars that do not comply with the protocols since the previous two weeks were only preventive attention calls.

“We begin today with the sanctions, we must have a strong hand, I have already instructed our deputy director of Commerce who depends on the Official Office to have a strong hand, remember that it is the deputy director of Commerce who carries out these operations,” he warned.

The Senior Officer indicated that her staff will be more alert than ever, especially in the face of the increase in cases of Covid-19 infections in the city.

And on the promotion of massive events with the presentation of recognized artists, such as Yuridia, he announced that they have not approached to request permits.
