As of this Wednesday, the strong flow of tourism begins, to reach over 75%

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The hotels on the Malecón de Mazatlán register occupancy of 70% and it will be from Wednesday when the strong flow in the arrival of tourists begins.

The president of the Tres Islas Hotels Association, José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, explained that since Sunday the lodging establishments reached levels of 68-70%, something that will continue to increase.

Our estimates were around 70-72%, but what I see is going to be a little more, because of the people who are deciding at the last minute, who come without a reservation, then we could go from 75% up” he said.

Manguart Sánchez highlighted that Mazatlán will have a good end of the year, with an average occupancy of 58%, becoming first place at the national level.

He commented that the improvement in its urban tourist image, road connectivity, and having established health protocols to be able to operate during the Covid pandemic, has been the key to obtaining these results.

“As of October Mazatlán was in first place at the national level with 55.5% in occupancy in the accumulated annual; could close for the second consecutive year in the first place, the one who came very close to us was Cancun, we are talking about tenths “, he concluded.

The hotel leader expects that in 2022 the good results in tourism will continue, as he trusts that the holiday 3 day weekends will maintain a high occupancy on weekends.
