MAZATLÁN.- Copala, in addition to history and mining, colonial houses wrapped in legends, has one of the most famous desserts in Sinaloa, the Banana Pay, a recipe that has become the main gastronomic product of the Concordia mountain area.

In addition to tasting the pies that each inhabitant bakes with their own recipes, it will have activities for adults and children, which range from donkey rides, visits to the alleys of the town and even deliver a letter to Santa Claus.

The renowned Banana Pay Fair in Copala will be a fact that thousands of people will be able to enjoy, since it was canceled last 2020 for health reasons, reported Emmanuel Alejandro Rodríguez Macías, president of the Copala Citizen Tourism Committee.

The mayor of Concordia, Raúl Bernal recognized the openness that the government of Rubén Rocha Moya has had with the municipalities and the support for the Banana Pie Fair, which will take place on Sunday, December 5.

“The municipalities have to show what we have, as in the case of Concordia, which has a historical capital, at the same time being a different alternative to beach tourism; We have good communication routes, in addition to being a quiet municipality and with a joint effort, we are going to walk taking the good that we have by involving the citizens, “he said.

For his part, the Director of Tourism, Ricardo Vizcarra Lizárraga, announced that it is a festival that has been held since 2017 with great success.

He recalled that in the first edition there was an attendance of 1,500 people, in 2018 two thousand and in 2019 almost four thousand and due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it had to be suspended in 2020.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of Tourism, Rosario Torres Noriega invited society in general to visit the place, and stressed that it is an event that is included within the work carried out by the Secretariat to promote tourism what each community organizes.

She added that the previous week he made a work tour, visiting the Magic Towns of Rosario, Mocorito and Cosalá, as well as Los Mochis and Copala, places where he said, he found pleasant surprises.

“That is why we consider the importance of this conference, so that they know what is organized in Concordia, something in which we all have to get involved, as part of the promotion of the State,” she concluded.
