The architectural work of Mazatlan’s Penguinarium recognized

The project obtains a first place in the category Restoration of public or private buildings, in a meeting of architects from the northwest and west of the country

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The work Pingüinario Mazatlán was recognized this weekend during the V Regional Biennial of Architecture of Region V, held in Tepic, Nayarit.

The architect in charge and on behalf of the Mazatlán College of Architects, Omar Sánchez Cuén, obtained first place in the category “Restoration of public or private buildings with the Pingüinario Mazatlán project”.

This is the first time an achievement has been earned in the category. For the award, the type of work and the concept were considered.

The participants were around thirty people, belonging to ten colleges of architects in the northwest and west of the country.

Region 5 comprises part of Sinaloa with the cities of Los Mochis, Culiacán, Guasave, Mazatlán, and other states such as Nayarit, Baja California Sur, Jalisco and Colima.
