MAZATLÁN, SINALOA (August 18, 2020)._ A constant monitoring of Hurricane Genevieve is maintained by the Regional Captain of Puerto de Mazatlán.

José Enrique Mora Reyes says that for the moment the port has been closed to the navigation of smaller vessels.

“So far the conditions are not favorable for the navigation of all types of vessels in this port, the monitoring of the Category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale is constant”, said the Regional Captain of the Port of Mazatlán, José Enrique Mora Reyes.

He added that until the afternoon of this Tuesday the effects of this cyclone reach the Marías Islands, but it is expected that in its movement through the Pacific Ocean it will generate storm surges, gusts of wind, and heavy rains for Sinaloa.
