Sinaloa only reaches 5.1% participation in popular consultation on former presidents

In Sinaloa, the calculation of the results of the popular consultation this Sunday, August 1, showed participation of only 5.1 percent of the nominal list, below what was had at the national level, which was 7 percent.

In the entity, 89.4 percent of the responses gave “Yes” and 10.5 percent “No” to the question asked on the walking ballot to know the opinion of the citizens on whether or not they agree to prosecute former servers.

“Do you agree or not that the pertinent actions be carried out in accordance with the constitutional and legal framework, to undertake a process of clarification of the political decisions made in recent years by political actors, aimed at guaranteeing justice and the rights of the possible victims ?, was the question of the consultation carried out on Sunday, August 1, 2021 “

At the end of all the computations, only 115 thousand 997 Sinaloans issued their opinion, of the 2 million 260 thousand 563 that is in the nominal list.

The executive member of the Local Board of the National Electoral Institute in Sinaloa (INE), Jorge Luis Ruelas Miranda, considered that regardless of the result of this exercise, the conference was a complete success, a historical fact as it was the first consultation with citizens that carried out this way.

“The mere fact that a consultation is carried out with the levels of efficiency and with the quality with which this was made by the INE and the people who helped us at each of the tables, is worthy of recognition, I think we must be happy as Mexicans and Mexicans, but there will be many readings, “he said.

The Local Board of the INE in Sinaloa will resume the permanent session at 9:00 am, where they will give the results of the district computations.
