Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The municipal president, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, lamented the death of the pulmonia operator who was attacked with a knife on Thursday morning and classified the event as isolated.

In an interview with the media, Benítez Torres acknowledged that an event like the one perpetrated against José Luis, 42, who lost his life yesterday is rare.

José Luis fue atacado a navajazos el miércoles y hoy por la mañana murió.

“Unfortunately, it is an isolated event that occurs after a long time without events like these, fortunately, we have detainees and most likely they are the alleged culprits,” said the mayor.

He stressed that there is a detained couple and that they are already “considered” as the alleged culprits, in addition, that according to the municipal mayor, the union of pulmonia operators are “happy with the security, only alarmed by what happened.”

“They spoke with the Secretary of Public Security, they are happy with security, only alarmed by what happened, which are isolated events that happen anywhere but that will not make us strengthen security,” Benítez Torres said.

“There are two detainees as alleged perpetrators, it is a couple. Let’s see what we can do,” he concluded.
