Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Faced with the concern that tourists with Covid-19 symptoms will arrive in Mazatlán, the municipal government will implement preventive measures to prevent infections from spreading during November.
The person in charge of the office of the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries, Luis Terán Tirado, reported that for this long weekend a tourist influx of 100% is expected in hotels, within the capacity allowed by the pandemic.

“It is very good for the economic reactivation of the sector, especially since the pandemic has a downward trend in the tourist destination, but protections and measures have to continue to be given,” he said.
Terán Tirado assured that they are concerned about the situation, since Durango and Chihuahua, which are in red in the epidemiological traffic light, are neighboring states that can provide an increase in Covid-19 and at a given moment could harm Mazatlán if they are not taken the appropriate measures.
“They are going to tighten the nuts, as they say vulgarly, we are going to mount some operations and we hope they will give us a few results, especially on the issue of the people of Durango and Chihuahua who already see that the pandemic has risen out there, “ he said
The person in charge of the Sedectur office explained that these operations consist of monitoring the capacity of the hotels, monitoring that the protocols are carried out in the clubs, bars, restaurants, and everything else.
The municipal official exhorted tourism service providers to respect health guidelines; antibacterial gel, face masks, and temperature measurement, for the good of all so that the economic growth of the city continues.
In the event that a tourist with any symptoms of coronavirus is detected, they will be treated immediately at the Margarita Maza de Juárez Municipal Hospital, where they will be given all the free service.
