A proposal in Mazatlan to make 2 streets around the ‘Pino Suárez Mercado’ pedestrian-only

MAZATLÁN SINALOA.- Pedestrian sections of the streets on the sides of the Municipal Market “José María Pino Suárez”, which are Melchor Ocampo and Leandro Valle, is a project proposal, which the local leadership of the National Action Party will try to reach Mayor of Mazatlan, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres.

Roberto González Gutiérrez, president of the municipal committee of the PAN, lamented that the situation with the street vendors of fixed and semi-fixed positions has reached the federal courts, because with a government open to dialogue the conflict could be avoided.

“From Acción Nacional, we are working on a project that we will send to Mayor Benítez Torres and hopefully they can take it into account. The idea is to close the sections of Melchor Ocampo and Leandro Valle and make them only pedestrian like in other cities. There would be added some local islands that would give order and improve the image of the commercial area, in addition to giving it greater mobility, ”he said.

González Gutiérrez said that by trampling the rights of citizens and acting in an arbitrary manner, no benefit will be achieved with the productive sectors of the municipality, with which the current administration has even been vilified.

He considered that Benítez Torres is in time to save his administration as municipal president, leaving aside threats and authoritarian practices.
