Mazatlan will host National Surf Jam tournament this weekend

On Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22, the “Mazatlan Surf Jam At El Cañon 2019” tournament will be held at the port. For this first edition there will be the participation of 36 wave lovers from different parts of the Mexican Republic, the modality will be in shortboard surfing in the men’s branch in the open category, the headquarters will be in Playa Pinitos at the point known as the Cañon, located in front of Fuerte 31 de Marzo.

The competitions will be starting at 7 in the morning both days, at 11 will start the live music and at noon there will be a gastronomic show. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first 4 places of the tournament. Some of the best surfers in the country will be participating as they are, Japhet Ramos, Ray Hernández, Travis Swartz and Boston Leier. 

The cash awards to be distributed will be 4 thousand dollars.

On September 21 and 22, the Invitational Surf Tournament called “Mazatlan Surf Jam At El Cañón 2019” will be held, based at Los Pinitos beach.

The cash awards to be distributed of 4 thousand dollars among the first four places in a single open category of the men’s branch in which 36 elite competitors of this sport will participate.

The participation of surfers from Canada, France, and nationals of Oaxaca, Guerrero, Colima, Nayarit and Baja California is contemplated.

Renowned surfers like Jafet Ramos, Rey Hernández, and promises in the future like Gael Jiménez, among others.

On Friday afternoon, 6:00 pm, a welcome cocktail will be held at Hotel El Cid, where documents and kits will be delivered to the participants. The competition will be from 7:00 on Saturday, with an estimated time of the event at 17:00. On Sunday, the second day of activities will begin in the same way until the end of the competition at 4:00 p.m.
