Mazatlan.- The Municipal Government will begin with the application of fines to residents who take their garbage out of the hours of the collection truck, with what is intended to raise awareness among the citizens and improve the image of the port, announced Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres.

At the press conference, at the end of the Civic Monday ceremony in the “Romana de la Peña” Kindergarten, of the Jacarandas Fraccionamiento, the Chemist also reiterated his project to reward the colonies and the subdivisions that remain clean.
Penalties for littering on public roads are contemplated within the Police and Good Governance Branch, and would begin to be applied at the beginning of July.

Prior to this measure, the City Council will publicize the issue and the Municipal Public Services Directorate will carry out a campaign to inform the residents of the routes and schedules of the trucks passing by, the chemist added.

The Municipal President mentioned that they are waiting for the arrival of the seven new collection trucks that will arrive on July 30, which will help in the solution of the problem.

“I am sure they will help a lot in solving these problems, such as this type of liquids that decompose and pollute, and that already the trucks of the Historic Center are ready for that. On July 30 we received them, we are 36 days after receiving them, “he concluded.
