Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Despite the violent events recorded in Sinaloa last Thursday, January 5, due to the capture of drug trafficker Ovidio Guzmán, the arrival of tourist cruises continues in Mazatlán, since this Tuesday three ships with more than 10,000 passengers and crew on board will arrive.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, the first cruise ship to enter the port will be the “Carnival Panorama”, coming from Los Cabos, with 4,366 passengers and 1,440 crew members.

At 7:45 a.m., the arrival of the “Koningsdam” is expected, from the same destination, with 2,499 international visitors and 957 crew members.

The “Insignia” is expected to dock at 8:00 a.m., which comes from Puerto Vallarta with 584 passengers and 401 crew members, for a total of 10,247 passengers and crew members in total.

During the days of the arrival of tourist boats, the economy in Mazatlan is reactivated in an important way since the economic benefit that each cruise passenger leaves is 100 dollars.

During the day there is an increase in the demand for services such as transportation, restaurants, and shops, both in the city and in rural areas.

According to the programming of tourist cruises of the Integral Port Administration of Mazatlan, this week the arrival of 6 ships is expected. There will be triple arrivals on Tuesday and the same amount on Wednesday, to close January with the arrival of 22 boats in the month.
