The president-elect of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, assured that the health system of that country will be like that of Canada or England when its six-year term ends in 2024.
He affirmed that said system will have an acceptable quality and will not cost the population.
López Obrador said that instead of considering the construction of new hospitals or health centers, his administration will focus on what is already working to be optimized, and the facilities that are still under construction or are abandoned will be completed or renewed.
In addition, to increase the resources with which to improve the quality of medical care are to make purchases of drugs for large volumes for use at the national level. This will lower costs and have savings.
