The Sinaloa State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reported the disappearance of two minors on March 3 and 29 in the municipality of Mazatlán, although the reports were not filed until April 1.
The missing minors are Erik Iván Gutiérrez Castro, 17, who disappeared on Sunday, and Uriel Sarabia García, 16, who disappeared earlier in the month.
According to the missing person report for Erik Iván Gutiérrez Castro, on the day he disappeared he was wearing a green t-shirt with white stripes, blue pants, white sneakers, and a black cap.
His family reports that on March 29, the minor left a home located in the town of El Roble, in Mazatlán, at 10:00 a.m., and his whereabouts have been unknown since then.
Gutiérrez Castro has a scar on his right calf. He is 1.71 meters tall, has light brown skin, a slim build, and short, straight, brown hair. His eyes are small and dark brown; he has a medium-sized mouth with thick lips and a wide, large nose.
Meanwhile, Uriel Sarabia García was wearing a black t-shirt with brown and white stripes, matching pants, and white and blue cloth sandals.
The report indicates that on March 3rd, he left a residence located in the town of El Bajío, Mazatlán, at an undisclosed time, and his whereabouts have been unknown since.
To facilitate his identification, the report describes that the minor has a tattoo on the left side of his chest with the name “Perla Sulema.” He is 1.65 meters tall, has a dark complexion, and a thin build. His hair is short, straight, and black, and he has large, brown eyes.
He has a large mouth with thick lips and a medium-sized, flat nose.
It’s worth noting that the state of Sinaloa has seen an increase in reports of missing and murdered individuals since the internal dispute within the Sinaloa Cartel erupted.
On October 5, 2025, the first case in this wave, Carlos Emilio Galván, was last seen alive in the port’s upscale area. Since then, authorities have been unable to clarify the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
