Under the pretext of taking a picture with his partner, a truck driver drove onto the sand at Playa Norte, where the heavy vehicle became stuck and was subsequently detained by municipal authorities.

The time when the driver of a white truck belonging to a freight transport company entered the beach via the ramp at Playa Norte is still unknown.

However, the driver didn’t realize that the truck’s weight would cause it to get stuck in the sand, which led to it being seen by onlookers and going viral on social media.

Members of the Aquatic Rescue Squad, Municipal Transit Police, and the National Guard arrived at the scene. Traffic Unit personnel took charge of the incident and, in coordination with a tow truck operator, carried out the necessary maneuvers to remove the heavy vehicle from the area.

It was reported that after several minutes of work, the cargo truck was successfully removed and taken to the impound lot for the issuance of fines established under the Sustainable Mobility Law.

Meanwhile, officers from the Municipal Public Security Secretariat brought the truck driver before the Civic Judge for driving in restricted and protected areas, specifically the beach area.

It was reported that personnel from the National Guard and Profepa (Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection) assessed the environmental damage and prepared the corresponding report for endangering a protected natural area.

Up to this point, it was reported that there were no previous reports of a tractor-trailer entering the beach area. There had been cases of ATVs, UTVs, pickup trucks, or other vehicles driving onto the beach and becoming stuck, eventually being submerged by the tide.
