Due to ongoing resurfacing work on various city streets, the Municipal Public Safety Secretariat, through its Traffic Unit, informs the public about the closure of 5 de Mayo Street in the city center.

According to a press release, Óscar García, Deputy Director of Municipal Traffic, stated that the improvement work on this street, in the section between Ignacio Zaragoza and Paseo Claussen, began Saturday morning.

However, the work will continue through Monday, January 19, and Tuesday, January 20, in order to complete the removal of the old asphalt and the installation of the new resurfacing.

The official added that, to ensure safety during the construction work, vehicular traffic will be closed starting at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Motorists are urged to use alternate routes such as Avenida del Mar, Benito Juárez, and Juan Carrasco, especially those heading north.

Finally, the Municipal Transit Authority calls on the public to exercise extreme caution and follow traffic signs to avoid accidents or delays during the closure.
