Personnel from the Mexican Navy, acting as the Coast Guard, assisted the crew of a yacht that lost propulsion near the port of Mazatlán on Tuesday, January 6.

The intervention began after the Port Authority reported that the vessel, named Tranquilo, was adrift with two U.S. citizens on board.

In response to the emergency, the Fourth Naval Region immediately dispatched an official unit to locate the vessel and provide assistance.

Upon arrival, naval personnel confirmed that both crew members were in good health. The operation then focused on towing the yacht to the El Cid Marina dock.

The institution made the numbers 669 9100 552 and 669 1270 861 available to the public for any emergency at sea.
