The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) obtained a federal judge based in Sinaloa to charge a man identified as Jesús “A.” He will be prosecuted for alleged involvement in public health crimes. He was apprehended while transporting more than 1,400 kilos of methamphetamine.
Jesús “A” was arrested by authorities from the Security Cabinet “while conducting surveillance at the Port Authority and the Maritime Ferry Terminal in the city of Mazatlán, Sinaloa.”
Members of the Mexican Navy (Semar) participated in this operation, in coordination with the Ministry of National Defense (Defense), the National Guard, the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), and the FGR.
During the operation, a tractor-trailer carrying 502 packages and a bag was seized. After the final report, the vehicle weighed one ton (432 kilos and 192 grams) of methamphetamine.
The detainee and the seized items were placed in the custody of the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office, which provided the necessary evidence to obtain prosecution and the precautionary measure of pretrial detention.
