Subjects throw tire-punching guns after being chased by the National Guard on the Mazatlán Bypass

A chase ended when members of a pickup truck threw dozens of tire-punctured cans across the Mazatlán Bypass, damaging two vehicles, including a National Guard Highway Division patrol car.

According to information from the National Guard Highway Division, they were patrolling the Mazatlán Bypass and, as they changed lanes from south to north at the Avenida Del Pacífico detour to return to the north-south lane, they saw a white Chevrolet Cheyenne pickup truck, which failed to stop when they stopped it.

They initiated a chase and, when they saw the pickup slow down, observed that at kilometer 266+600, it threw dozens of tire-punctured cans across the north-south lane, before fleeing again.

The National Guard Highway Division unit sustained damage to its front left tire, stopping and stopping on the shoulder. A few meters behind, a white Honda Civic vehicle also had damage to its left front tire.

Federal officers quickly stopped traffic and, with the help of other drivers, began collecting the metal artifacts scattered on the pavement.

Roadside assistance personnel from the same highway inspected the entire section and also helped change the tire of the official vehicle.

The same Honda crew members were responsible for changing the damaged tire to resume their journey.

At kilometer 265+900, two National Guard trucks were stopped. One unit was having its two front tires changed, but the military officers consulted confirmed that they suffered no damage from the tire punctures, without specifying the reason for changing the tires a few hundred meters from where the sharp objects were thrown.
