“In Mazatlán, the perception of insecurity has decreased significantly. (…) In Mazatlán, people feel safer, according to the INEGI survey on the perception of insecurity,” she noted.

According to the National Survey of Urban Public Security (ENSU), published on July 24, the perception dropped to 64.5% in June, down from 75.5% in March.

She also noted that the municipality is experiencing an economic and tourism recovery, and reiterated her government’s commitment to supporting the state’s recovery from the current violence.

“In Mazatlán, hotel occupancy is growing significantly, and the arrival of cruise ships has never stopped. This is our commitment to the people of Sinaloa, that we will be there and we will not leave. The Security Cabinet will be visiting Sinaloa every two weeks to continue supporting and speaking with all sectors, listening to their concerns. There are regions that are already significantly recovering their activity, and we will continue working,” she emphasized.

Security meetings every two weeks

On the other hand, Sheinbaum Pardo confirmed that every two weeks the Security Cabinet holds meetings with the Sinaloa government and the Secretary of Security, as well as various sectors of Sinaloan society, from business leaders to small businesses and families.

This Sunday, August 3, during her morning press conference, García Harfuch confirmed that, on the instructions of the president, the Security Cabinet will visit Sinaloa every two weeks to report on the progress of the security strategy.
