Governor Rubén Rocha Moya met with business leaders, as well as presidents of chambers and business associations in the port of Mazatlán, with the goal of strengthening coordination and collaborative efforts to promote economic development in the southern region of Sinaloa.

The governor was accompanied by Mazatlán Mayor Estrella Palacios Domínguez; Secretary of Economy Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas; and Secretary of Tourism Mireya Sosa Osuna.

Military authorities also participated, including General Guillermo Briseño Lobera, interim commander of the Third Military Region; General Porfirio Fuentes Vélez, commander of the Ninth Military Zone; and General Jorge Enrique Martínez Medina, state coordinator of the National Guard.

During the meeting, the governor heard firsthand the concerns and proposals of Mazatlán’s business sector, reaffirming his commitment to the municipality’s economic and tourism development.

The Secretary of Economy, Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas, emphasized that it has been a priority for Governor Rubén Rocha Moya to follow up on these meetings with the business sector and chambers of commerce, highlighting the focus on these causes as a vision that allows for continuing to build development, well-being, and growth for Sinaloa.

He also noted that this meeting is taking place at a key moment, prior to the start of summer vacation, an important season for the state’s economic and tourism activity.

“It has been a priority for Governor Rubén Rocha Moya to follow up on these meetings with the business sector and chambers of commerce. Today we held this meeting, where three key areas were prioritized: security, economic recovery, and, since this is the port, tourism, which is a priority, especially in the coming weeks, as the most important seasons, such as summer, approach. Various requests to strengthen the focus on these causes were also addressed, a request that has been raised at the federal level,” he said.

Among the attendees were business leaders such as Óscar Sánchez, from Dportenis; Sergio Pelayo, from the Royal Villas Hotel; Amado Guzmán, from Grupo Petroil; Lino Suárez, from Aerospace Park; Jorge Lizárraga, from Grupo Eleva; and José Ureña, director of the Mazatlán International Center.

Also participating were Hugomar Lizárraga, from CMIC; Sergio Rojas, from Canacintra; Verónica Estrada, from Coparmex; Margarita Rojas, from Canirac; Francisca Cazárez, from Canaco; Óscar Tirado, from AMPI; José Ramón Manguart, from the 3 Islas Hotel and Motel Association; Gilberto Avilez, from the Marketing Committee of the Association of Hotels and Tourism Companies; Sergio Romero, from the Mazatlán Association of Hotels and Tourism Companies; and Tobías Lozano, from CODESIN South Zone.

This meeting follows the governor’s recent meetings in Culiacán, both at the Government Palace and at the Ninth Military Zone headquarters, and this time at the Third Military Region headquarters in Mazatlán. He reaffirmed his openness to dialogue and his willingness to work hand in hand with productive sectors throughout the state.
