In the first five months of 2025, Mazatlán Rafael Buelna International Airport has yet to recover its domestic and international passenger traffic.
According to OMA statistics, 138,204 passengers arrived at the airport in May, compared to 153,151 during the same period in 2024, representing a 9.8 percent drop.
The breakdown indicates that of the total number of passengers this May, 121,247 were domestic, compared to 134,030 in May 2024.
International passengers last May totaled 16,957, compared to 19,165 during the same period last year.
From January to May, 776,275 passengers were recorded, compared to 817,234 passengers during the same period last year.
Of that total, 160,745 travelers arrived at the airport in January; 142,321 in February; 177,017 in March; 157,988 in April; and 138,204 in May.
The North Central Airport Group (OMA) reported that the number of terminal passengers transported at its 13 airports during May 2025 grew 6.9 percent compared to the same period in 2024.
Domestic passenger traffic increased 5.1 percent, and international passenger traffic grew 19.5 percent.
