Sinaloa is among the states that spent the least budget on public security institutions.
According to the INEGI National Public Security Census, in 2023, the state of Sinaloa spent 936.3 million pesos, ranking among the 10 entities nationwide with the best budget spent on security.
In the same spending range, there are Baja California Sur, with 931 million pesos, followed by Tlaxcala, Aguascalientes, Hidalgo and Coahuila.
The entities that spent the most public budget on security were Nuevo León, with 7,532 million, followed by Veracruz, Jalisco and Puebla.
However, Sinaloa is ranked first with the most students, or cadets, in training to become police officers.
According to the Census, in 2023, 1,142 students entered the Police University, with a minimum dropout rate of 33 students.
