Woman Dies After Falling from Rooftop; She Was Watching the Solar Eclipse in Mazatlán

For many, April 8 was a day of symbolism and wonder, but for Mrs. Librada, 80 years old, it turned into her last day unexpectedly and tragically.

In Sinaloa, the total solar eclipse that fascinated millions around the world did not bring only joy. While each person experienced it in a unique way, for Mrs. Librada, 80 years old, it meant her last day on this plane.

According to reports, the elderly woman, a resident of Mazatlán, climbed to the roof of her house to observe the astronomical phenomenon after 11 in the morning. Unfortunately, she slipped and fell to the ground.

Her relatives alerted the Red Cross, and paramedics arrived at the scene to quickly transport her to the Social Security Hospital.

Amidst the intense traffic of a city that was still ecstatic about the eclipse at that moment, the ambulance made its way with emergency lights flashing, aiming to save the lady’s life.

Upon arrival at the hospital and after a quick diagnosis, it was confirmed that she suffered from severe cranioencephalic trauma, which turned out to be the cause of her death minutes later.

At one in the afternoon, the medical staff notified the death of Mrs. Librada, causing mourning among her loved ones.

Personnel from the Vice Prosecutor’s Office of the southern state attended the hospital, who were in charge of certifying the facts before authorizing the release of the body to be handed over to her relatives.
