Mazatlán is expecting the arrival of about 120,000 visitors who will be able to see the solar eclipse on the upcoming April 8th.

According to assessments by NASA and the National Eclipse Committee, both the port of Mazatlán and neighboring municipalities will become the ideal sites to witness the majesty of the eclipse, added the state official.

It is expected that this weekend the thousands of astronomy followers, both national and foreign, will start to arrive, so a full house in the hotels is anticipated, he expressed.

The state of Sinaloa has around 26,000 hotel rooms, and more than 70 percent are concentrated in Mazatlán.

The head of Sectur stated that with the eclipse, the vacations in Mazatlán were extended, taking into account that there were days off for Holy Week and Easter Week.
