Strong tourist investment envisioned for Mazatlan

The Secretary of Economy in the state of Sinaloa announced that four chain hotels and more real estate towers are coming to the port 

Mazatlán, Sin.- The second semester of 2023 looks good for Mazatlán, as investments will continue to arrive, announced the Secretary of Economy, Javier Gaxiola Coppel. 

He explained that for the next five months there are four more projects that will be added to the construction of 15 hotels that are currently under construction. 

He commented that 50 percent of the six-year investment goal has already been met, since to date there are 37 billion pesos in private investment in Mazatlan, while in Sinaloa, foreign direct investment has already exceeded one billion dollars.  

“We are not even going to the second half of the year and 50 percent of the six-year goal has already been reached and the investments continue to arrive,” he said. 

Gaxiola Coppel pointed out that there are currently around 15 hotels under construction, some of which will be ready before the end of this year; plus, there are a lot of real estate towers in the way. 

 “We are looking to bring more hotel chains to Mazatlán, this because of the confidence of investors in the government of Rubén Rocha Moya and national and foreign consumers,” he said. 

The state official assured that the government will protect the private investment of businessmen who bet their capital on the development of Sinaloa. 

“In the last 10 years, the average direct foreign investment has been more or less two billion dollars in six years; We have been investing for a year and a half and we have invested more than a billion dollars, we are already reaching more than 50 percent of the six-year goal, ”he concluded.
