MAZATLÁN. – With musical groups for all tastes, the traditional Fiesta del Mar de Las Cabras in Escuinapa returns to celebrate 119 years of history, from May 18 to 22,

The mayoress of Escuinapa, Blanca Estela García Sánchez, mentioned that there will be close to 800 branches distributed over at least 3 kilometers of beach, in addition to camping areas, a musical esplanade and sporting events, with the expectation of receiving around 50,000 people.

“It is a tradition that distinguishes us, it is that ritual, a tribute that is given to the Goddess of Fraternity, where the Tepehuanes did this ritual there on the hill of Las Cabras, for us it is an honor to make this maximum party known of the Escuinapenses”, she declared.

For the Undersecretary of Tourism, Moisés Ríos Pérez, the Las Cabras Sea Festival represents a centenary party for the inhabitants of the well-known “south south” of Sinaloa and that year after year achieves family union, but also, the international promotion of their destination, with visitors from Japan, the United States and Canada.

“Events of this type, like Las Cabras, which could be similar, I think it is in Italy, in an event called Ferragosto, where thousands of Italians spend their summer vacations on the beach, very similar, keeping distances and cultures different,” he said.

In the musical offer they will have Max Peraza, Los Madafakers, La Rezaka, La Sonora Dinamita, Panchito Arredondo, Los 2 de la S and many more; in addition to a triathlon and cycling race, where children, adolescents, adults, and masters will participate.

The festivities, pointed out the mayoress, are free, both sports and musical activities, there the economic benefit is for the merchants, who are dedicated to the sale of food and branches, adapted for each family, in a size of three-by-three meters squares.

The Fiesta de Las Cabras is a tradition that is about to celebrate 119 years of history in this municipality, where hundreds of families gather for three days on Las Cabras beach, leaving loaded with clothes, food, furniture, and everything you need and spend morning, afternoon, and night in front of the sea.
