Mazatlan Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries Quits

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- No later than Friday, the new head of the Mazatlán Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries ( Sedectur ) will be appointed, after the resignation of Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas.

“Pity” submitted his resignation on Tuesday to Mayor Edgar González Zatarain, and yesterday at noon Governor Rubén Rocha Moya took his oath as Undersecretary of the Meetings Industry in the State Secretary of Tourism.

“We are about to define it between today and tomorrow, there are some proposals that we are assessing jointly with the state for the issue of tourism promotion, economic development, which is tied there,” said González Zatarain.

The municipal sealed that two profiles are being evaluated, a man and a woman, both from Mazatleco and who have not held positions in public service. The profile sought is to get along with employers and have good contacts.

On Tuesday, January 31, Governor Rubén Rocha Moy protested against the former municipal official as the new undersecretary of the Conventions sector.

Pity Velarde Cárdenas had served as Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries of the Mazatlán city council since October 2021.
