Mazatlan will have its first regional Box championship

This coming October 29, the regional Boxing Championship will be held, an event that has the participation and support of the Municipal Sports Institute and the Mazatlan Municipal Boxing Committee.

In a conference, councilor Roberto Rodríguez Lizárraga reported that the Women’s and Men’s branches are divided into 3 categories, from 13 to 14 years old, from 15 to 16 years old, and from 17 years to 18 years old.

The venue will be the José “Loco” Becerra gym, and the second date will take place on November 12 at the Infonavit Playas recreational field.

The third date will be on Saturday, November 26, on the field of the Independencia neighborhood, where the ring will be installed for the matches, and finally the final will take place in the Martiniano Carvajal park, on December 10, where a series of tributes and acknowledgments to trainers and inactive boxers who were a fundamental part of promoting this sport in the port.

The call is open to any interested party, so they must submit a copy of their birth certificate, responsive letter and a medical certificate, as for the women’s branch they must submit a letter of non-pregnancy.

For her part, the director of the municipal sports institute, Fabiola Verde Rosas, expressed her support for the councilor for his unconditional support for this high-performance sport, as well as his interest in taking into account some municipalities in the southern zone for participation in the championship.

The official expressed that these types of events are a great ally in terms of prevention for all adolescents.

More than 100 athletes from Mazatlan, Rosario and Escuinapa are expected to participate in the championship.
