Mazatlan will be added as a guest city within Hispanic Week, where it is contemplated that it could be headed by Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres and other officials.

The presence of Mazatlán within the Hispanic Week in Madrid, Spain, which will take place from October 11 to 14, has the challenge of bringing more and new investments and also in promoting the destination touristically, therefore, the budget of expenses it is estimated to be less than three million pesos, and an elementary entourage, pointed out Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas.

The Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries in Mazatlán, emphasized that this trip for work purposes and marked with a precise agenda, will have significant financial savings, since it has also been possible to have an agreement with Aeroméxico, which were more expensive at the time of move to the mother country.

“The same Mexico that has been interested in Mazatlan being the city invited to promote it as Mazatlan week in Spain, because it is going to be something that is going to be a great detonation with an investment below 50 percent of what is done. every year with Finatur; however, we are not just going to a tourist issue, I could classify it as 25, 30 percent tourism and 70 percent an economic agenda”.

Velarde Cárdenas pointed out that in this meeting there will be the participation of the “Banda El Recodo” in the Plaza Mayor, where they contemplate three presentations, where they estimate the presence of 100 thousand people. This trip contemplates strengthening the Mazatlan-Madrid flight project, which is a challenge that will not be achieved in the short term but in the future.

This trip includes meetings with a very particular agenda with businessmen from the hotel and tourism industry, among others, where the presence of an ambassador of Mazatlan origin such as Quirino Ordaz Coppel, generates greater confidence to open the doors during these days.

Meanwhile, the director of the Institute of Culture, Tourism and Arts, José Ángel Tostado Quevedo, pointed out that they will go with a small entourage, at most 10 people, who seek to be strengthened, although these expenses will be seen with the Ministry of Economy local.
